Extraction Manager

Why is Preanalytics so important?

It is of vital importance in the clinical laboratory because it represents the first step in the process of analyzing medical samples and plays a fundamental role in obtaining accurate and reliable results. This phase refers to all the activities and procedures that occur from the time a medical sample is requested until it reaches the laboratory for analysis.

At Intersys, we are at the forefront of this exciting future, offering innovative solutions and state-of-the-art services in laboratory preanalytics.

N

Impact on diagnostic accuracy

Errors in this phase can lead to incorrect results, which affects the quality of diagnoses and treatments.

N

Guarantees the integrity of the samples

It ensures that samples are not contaminated or degraded, which is essential for reliable results.

N

Minimizes risk to the patient

Avoids medical errors and complications by ensuring proper sampling and correct patient identification.

N

Saves resources

A proper pre-analytical phase avoids costly errors that require repeat analyses and increase the workload.

N

Facilitates patient monitoring

Accurate results are key for monitoring patients with chronic diseases and adjusting treatments.
N

Complies with quality standards and regulations

Compliance is essential to maintain accreditation and patient and physician confidence in clinical laboratories.

Preanalytical Steps

“Preanalytical is the initial phase in clinical or laboratory analysis, where biological samples, such as blood, urine, etc., are collected and prepared prior to testing. This stage is essential to obtain accurate results and maintain sample integrity.”

Request for evidence

Necessary tests are requested according to the patient’s condition.

Patient identification

Ensure that samples are correctly associated with the patient.

Sample collection

The necessary biological samples are taken according to the physician.

Sample preparation

Sample pre-processing, such as centrifugation or fixation.

Storage and Transport

Keep the samples in adequate temperature and safety conditions.

Sample labeling

Clearly label samples with patient information and sample type.

Registration and documentation

Record in detail all actions, including time of collection and other relevant data.

Quality Control

Apply control procedures to ensure sample integrity and accuracy of results.

Integrated Solutions for Preanalytics

Extraction Manager

A blood collection manager, also known as a sample manager or phlebotomy management system, is a tool or system used in healthcare settings to manage and coordinate the blood collection process efficiently. It also facilitates integration with other laboratory information systems (LIS), hospital information systems (HIS) and existing management systems for seamless data exchange.

In summary, a blood collection manager is a technological tool that helps to optimize and streamline the blood collection process, improving the quality of care and efficiency in laboratories and healthcare centers.

Our innovative modular system offers a comprehensive solution to streamline your operations and improve patient satisfaction. Discover how our shift management, container dispensing and extraction control modules work together to improve your workflow.

Shift management module

Reduces waiting time and optimizes the scheduling of extractions, improving patient satisfaction.

Container/Label Dispensing Module

This container dispensing module is a centerpiece of our system and makes this task simple and organized.

Extraction Control Module

Our extraction control module is a central part of our system.

Label Sheet Production

This module allows several options for the client that will be explained later.

Dispensing and ‘Bedside’ Extraction

Both dispensing and validation of the “Bedside” extraction can be done using a generic battery trolley or specifically designed for the operation.

Label strip dispensing

Our label strip dispensing module is on-demand, i.e., dispensing is performed in the event of extraction, based on already configured profiles.

Shift Management Module

Reduces waiting time and optimizes the scheduling of extractions, improving patient satisfaction. Whether on-demand flow or by appointment.

N

We avoid using the patient's name and surname in the call, complying with the LOPD and RGPD.

N

The agendas can be downloaded from the appointment system implemented in the center.

N

The extraction boxes can be discriminated by agenda, priority and schedule.

N

Option to inform the appointment system of the patient's "acude" appointment.

N

Only a single shift number is used throughout the process.

Container / Label Dispensing Module

Our container dispensing module is a centerpiece of our system and makes this task simple and organized.

N

Automated Assignment: assigns containers to patients according to the request, avoiding confusion and errors.

N

Labeling: dispensing of the containers if there are automatic labelers or of the necessary labels, with the information that the center considers.

N

Volume calculation : possibility to calculate the total volume by parameterizing the required volume of the aliquots.

N

Integration with HIS/LIS: integration through services for dispensing from HIS or LIS applications.

N

Usage Reports: access detailed reports on container usage, allowing you to more effectively plan and manage your resources.

Módulo de Control de Extracción

Extraction Control Module

Our extraction control module is a central part of our system.
From confirmation of the patient’s identity to the collection of extraction data (incidents), this module ensures accurate and secure management.

N

Patient Identification: Verifies the identity of patients.

N

Data Logging: Records extraction times and relevant extraction occurrences.

N

Guidance to the extractor: Messages on the screen indicate the order in which to extract the containers, as well as the handling and conservation of the samples.

N

Other biological samples: As with the containers for blood collection, the patient's delivery of other biological samples can be controlled.

N

Traceability by introducing the ID of the transport rack.

N

Extraction at the bedside.

N

Reports: Both of the incidences occurred and of the time spent by the patient from the moment he/she enters the center until the extraction is completed.

Production of Label Sheets

Module to design and print customized label sheets with up to 250 counters, using Zebra thermal printers.

N

Spreadsheet design

The design of the template can be specified by the center, including suffixes / prefixes required for the laboratory.

N

Production history

User, date, counter, batch, among others.

N

Thermal thermal printers

The printers used are some models of the Zebra brand, both low cost (GK4xx series) and industrial (ZTx00 series).

N

Up to 250 meters

Up to 250 counters can be used, allowing discrimination by sample sub-center or origin.

N

Print on demand

Unnecessary stock is avoided by being able to produce the spreadsheets in the plant.

N

Centers

As a low-cost solution, it can be installed in sub-centers with sufficient volume.

N

Label Format

It can be a flat or strip rolled narrow trolley.

N

Sheets

You can order the forms directly from Intersys.

Dispensing and ‘Bedside’ Extraction

Both dispensing and validation of the “Bedside” extraction can be done using a generic battery trolley
or specifically designed for the operation.

N

Patient identification by means of NHC of the bracelet.

N

Labeling : Dispensing of the necessary labels, with the information considered by the center.

N

Data Logging: Records extraction times and relevant extraction occurrences.

N

Guidance to the extractor: Messages on the screen indicate the order in which to extract the containers, as well as the handling and conservation of the samples.

Label strip dispensing

On demand, dispensing is performed in the event of extraction, based on already configured profiles. This is a way to avoid the waste of labels that occurs with the spreadsheet format, as long as the extraction point has a corporate connection.

N

Configure the labels : The values of the different texts of each label are configured, including suffixes / prefixes required for the laboratory.

N

Configure the profiles : The labels belonging to the profile are configured, the number of profiles is up to 25.

N

Patient identification: It is possible to include in the label information the patient's name/surname as well as a unique identifier by reading the DNIe or the health card.

N

Up to 250 counters : Up to 250 counters can be used, allowing discrimination by sub-center or origin of the samples.

N

Thermal thermal printers: The printers used are some Zebra narrow carriage models (ZD41xx series).

N

Centers: As a low-cost solution, it can be installed in sub-centers with sufficient volume.

N

Re-labeling : Samples can be re-labeled using an already defined laboratory number.

N

Label format : Rolled strip.
